ID cards risky or what? 23 reasons for suppliers not to bid
11 April 2008

Government contracts? Money for old rope, mate! Look at the ID cards scheme. 50 million users! Can't go wrong. Telecoms all over the place, linking police stations and doctor's surgeries and schools and airports with the Passport Office down Petty France ... Fingerprint readers next to every PC ... And smart card readers and keyboards and cameras, thousands of them ... In every pub and every supermarket, can't have the young drinking and smoking ... No, you go for it my old mate, I can't think of a single reason not to!

Well BCSL can, 23 of them: http://dematerialisedid.com/BCSL/Risk.html

About Business Consultancy Services Ltd (BCSL):
BCSL has operated as an IT consultancy since 1984. The past five years have been spent campaigning against the Home Office's plans to introduce ID cards into the UK. It must now be admitted that the government are much better at convincing people that it's a bad idea than anyone else is, including BCSL.
