Dear Dr Hine

It is two months now since you offered to have Mr Sheehan investigate the FBI's conclusion that investment in biometrics based on facial geometry is a waste of money. May I ask how his investigation is going? When can the public see the result?

I have in the meanwhile submitted a Freedom of Information (FOI) request, no. 13523/09, the response to which was unsatisfactory and I have therefore lodged an appeal against it. I bring this matter to your attention because the FOI team say that your assertion that "we plan to use all 10 fingerprints and facial biometrics to ensure someone can only enrol on the scheme once, thereby preventing multiple identities being established" is wrong.

I look forward to seeing Mr Sheehan's findings.

Yours sincerely
David Moss
